12/4/2023 0 Comments Mosh pits carolina rebellion![]() ![]() Everything changed when I got to high school and was given a CD by a new friend. Get ready and be prepared, you are in for a long and painful ride.įavorite Bands: Justice For The Damned, Boundaries, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Frozen Soul, Abominable Putridity, A Wake in Providence, Whitechapel, Devourment, and Benighted.įor more information about your Master Butcher, The Saw, check out: įrom the forests of Kashyyyk to the streets of Newark, I've brought the metal to the masses, and now, I'm bringing the metal to OVERKILL RADIO! I was born and raised on rock and roll, learning about local legends like The Boss, Bon Jovi, and Southside Johnny before learning about math (I still can't grasp that math thing). How exciting! I look forward to seeing you in my Butcher Shop real soon. And best of all, you can never get away! There is no exit!! You are forever stuck in The Saw’s Butcher Shop. When it’s all over but the cryin’, The Saw’s Butcher Shop will leave you hanging from a meat hook, begging to be six feet deep. Within these segments, the slaughter plays-out in different genres (metalcore, hardcore, death metal, deathcore, slam, and black metal, etc.). My show is divided into different segments, aptly named to describe the brutally terrifying House of Horrors that it is. Soon thereafter, my on-air time evolved into an award-winning radio show – The Saw’s Butcher Shop® – where you are pummeled with the heaviest metal on the planet. Once I was on campus, I applied to become a DJ and that is when The Saw was born! The name The Saw comes from the song, “The Saw Is The Law,” by Whitechapel – one of my favorite bands. Before I left for college, my dad told me that NC State had a radio station called WKNC 88.1 and that they played metal. My radio personality formed when I attended NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. My love for metal – and the heavier realm of the genre – grew stronger when I went to the Carolina Rebellion at 14, and my first Warped Tour (solo) at 16. ![]() My parents met in a mosh pit and my brothers and cousin have been in local bands since I was a little girl. What’s going on Butcher Crew?! It’s ya girl, your Master Butcher, The Saw and I am here to deliver the beatings on OVERKILL RADIO! Metal isn’t a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Post graduation, after some encouragement from friends, musicians, and listeners, I took on the responsibility to bring talented, like-minded DJs together to create a new platform for METAL music! It was a no-brainer to create a supergroup of radio DJs from across the nation under one radio station! Over the years I also acquired a taste for the Synthwave music genre, which is our overnight music format! Synthwave is a new underground music genre that packs all the originality and cult status of Heavy Metal music! I'm proud of what OVERKILL RADIO has become, in spirit it has college radio vibes, but now we're taking it national!įavorite Bands: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pantera, Motörhead, Sodom, Razor, Venom, Demon, Midnight, Eternal Champion, Visigoth, Unto Others, Acid Bath, Down, Pentagram, Woods of Ypres, Children of Bodom One of the wonderful things about the music industry is getting to meet and network with a lot of people, which led to the founding of this radio station. ![]() From playing hundreds of killer tunes, to interviewing dozens of musicians, to having bands play live on the air, I did it all for over 3 years every week on that 3 hour show! It was the experience of a lifetime raising hell on the college airwaves in San Antonio, Texas! In addition, I was also the Assistant Program Director at KSYM. Prior to creating the vision for OVERKILL RADIO, I was a student at San Antonio College and the host of KSYM 90.1 FM’s “Thursday Night Metal Show”. I come from San Antonio, TX, which was once nicknamed “The Heavy Metal Capital of World” back in the 1980’s so I guess METAL is in my heritage. METAL music in particular has always been my favorite, it’s a massive library of a genre with a die-hard cult following and welcoming community. Music is a universal language that brings us together. ![]()
